This lab comprehensively educates basic wood properties i.e. wood formation, anatomy, physics, and mechanics. This lab is intended to integrate theories and technology issues concerning both wood processing and its relevant properties. While emphasizing consideration of different site or inherent conditions, the lab aims at exploring concerning wood identification from an archaelogical point of view and developing tree selection on the basis of its wood properties.

Maceration of wood and wood slicing for wood-fiber observations
Observation of wood anatomy using a polarized light microscope and wood color using a spectrocolorimeter
