Serving of education is done, begun with vocational program (VP), undergraduate, and postgraduate covering daily classes, practices and research for final assessment. Research activities are done by relevant and competent laboratories. All this time, research outcomes have been disseminating through journals, seminars and conferences in national and international levels, such as MAPEKI (Masyarakat Peneliti Kayu Indonesia/National Conference of Indonesian Wood Research Society) and International Symposium of Indonesia Wood Research Society.
DFPT also had become organizers of national and international, for example in 2017 DFTP had become 9th Pacific Region Wood Anatomy Conference and International Symposium of 9th Indonesia Research Wood Society. These events were contribution of all of educational staff who was involved in many kind of scientific forum all over the world.
In terms of the empowerment of the society, DFPT has been doing these activities regularly funded by Faculty of Forestry or other institutions which want to participate for the implementation of wood advanced technology that has been developed in DFPT. In general, the empowerment of the society is done in Yogyakarta and Central Java for small scale industries. The services of forest product test are provided for researchers, communities, stakeholders, government institutions and industries. By this time, the evaluation processes of DFPT are continuously improved on the quality of learning processes, research and services.
